'She's a warrior': Woman shoved into moving NYC subway train paralyzed

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WPIX) - A 35-year-old woman who was shoved into a moving subway train on Sunday is paralyzed from the neck down and could die from her injuries, prosecutors said Wednesday. The victim, Emine, was on her way to work when Kamal Semrade, 39, allegedly came up from behind and grabbed her with both hands before shoving her head into a departing E train at the Lexington Avenue–63rd Street station, authorities said. The woman hit the train with her face and head before landing on the platform, leaving her instantly paralyzed, prosecutors said. Yes, the original home from the "Brady Bunch" can be yours, and it will look just like you remember it.The home, which is located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Studio City, was originally just used for exterior shots in the original 1970s classic television series. But in 2019, HGTV, the popular real estate and home improvement reality channel, began renovating the property to revamp the interior to be series-accurate. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 17-year-old boy fell to his death this weekend while climbing a Los Angeles bridge in an apparent social media stunt, police said.Police were sent to the 6th Street Viaduct around 2 a.m. Saturday and found the boy, who was pronounced dead at a hospital. Houston man arrested in Fayette County after road rage incident

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Monday, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reported a Houston man was arrested on multiple charges after a road rage incident Sunday on Interstate 10.Deputies responded to a call involving a vehicle reportedly shooting a handgun out the window. The vehicle was found and pulled over, according to the sheriff’s office.“The occupants, two males and a woman traveling with a small child, at first denied any involvement in any shooting or weapons being in the vehicle,” FCSO said.Deputies found a 9mm handgun in the backseat of the vehicle, according to FCSO, as well as marijuana.“When confronted with the findings, the driver admitted to firing the handgun out the window after being cut off by a couple of motorists,” FCSO said.The driver was identified as 35-year-old Charlie Ray Sheppard Jr., of Houston.According to the sheriff’s office, the driver was found to be prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon.FCSO said the driver was arrested and ch...

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Via Aquarium has welcomed a new addition to their tanks, and locals had the chance earlier this week to name the new octopus. The votes are in, and the Capital Region has chosen the name Kraken.Kraken joins the aquarium's dozens of other exhibits, which include stingray feeds, reptile shows, and a turtle petting tank. The index determines how much federal funding is given to hospitals for labor costs when they treat Medicare patients.At 86 cents on the dollar, Capital Region hospitals are currently paid less than the national average, but a proposed rule change would increase payments by 43 percent. Runaway horse rescued by police in Burbank caught on video

A riderless, but saddled horse named Oreo, discovered grazing on the front lawn of a Burbank home, was returned by a police officer who was able to ride the horse back to its owner, officials announced on Wednesday.  Officers with the Burbank Police Department responded to calls of the runaway horse near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Mariposa Street at around 12:30 a.m. on May 23. Video of the incident shows an officer riding the horse at quick trot out of the home’s front yard and down Main Street. A resident called police after spotting the horse “running frantically down the street with a saddle,” making her fear the horse’s rider might have fallen off and gotten injured, Burbank police officials told KTLA.  At the scene, officers spotted the saddled horse feeding on a resident’s grass and noticed the animal did not have a bridle attached.  “Burbank Police Officer Nicholas Moreno grew up around horses and calmly mounted the animal,” police ...
